EDC is delighted to announce their official partnership agreement with Cooper Bussmann.

'Being the official Industrial Control Distribution partner for Scotland with Cooper Bussmann is very important as it allows us to offer B.S.88 Industrial & High Speed semi-conductor fuses to all market segments from a company that is widely regarded as the best in its field,
Both companies have a similar strategy in the market place & look forward to a successful business relationship together' said Ricky Sinclair the FuseCare specialist at EDC.

EDC will promote the cooper Bussmann range of product online, and will add the range to their point of sale counter facility which is being developed over the next year

In early October 2007 EDC Scotland M.D. Allan Murray met with May Gilchrist of CLIC Sargent
in Prestwick to present a cheque for £5,000.00, The money was part of a total of £30,000.00 raised recently by the " Brave Ben Superstars" 3 peaks challenge which was supported by EDC, as well as other companies and individuals throughout the U.K. The Brave Ben appeal was to support Ben Preston and was organised by Ben's family and friends, donations have been made to a number of worthy charities from the appeal.

Malcolm Sargent House, Prestwick is a service provided by CLIC Sargent for use by children and young people with cancer throughout the United Kingdom

The house offers family centred holidays and weekends to children and young people with cancer and their families. The house is also available to young people and their CLIC Sargent social workers throughout the UK to use for activity based weekends and weeks during the year.

Ideally situated for access to train station and the airport, Malcolm Sargent House sits directly on the seafront, offering breathtaking views of the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran, an inspirational setting whatever the weather.

Annual Customer Visit to Helsinki & Sweden

In early October 2006, EDC had the annual customer factory visits to Helsinki & Stockholm, The trip was planned on a very busy schedule and involved visits to the following 4 manufacturing facilities:-
ABB Drives factory for ACS800 and ACS550 series Drives in Helsinki, Finland
ABB Machines ( Very Large Motors ) Helsinki, Finland
ABB Motors Standard product in Vasteras, Sweden
ABB Soft Starts in Vasteras, Sweden
We would like to thank our hosts in these facilities for excellent presentations of their products, and their hospitality throughout.
Our Itinerary involved the overnight sea crossing from Helsinki to Stockholm, the picture to the left is our party leaving Helsinki on the Monday evening.
We would also like to thank the customers who took time out from their already busy schedules to make this visit a memorable and hopefully informative occasion.

ABB and Severn Trent Water awarded for “Best Environmental Initiative of the Year”
2006-10-06 - ABB and Severn Trent Water have won the Electrical Industry Awards 2006 for “Best Environmental Initiative of the Year”, following an installation that reduced energy consumption by over £12,000 per annum at Severn Trent’s Wanlip Sewage Treatment Works in Leicestershire.
This is the second year running that ABB wins the environmental prize at the Electrical Industry Awards. Last year, the company claimed the prize for its replacement drives scheme, which aims to assess, replace and recycle variable speed drives from any manufacturer, improving reliability and energy efficiency.
