Well 5 days to completion actually, but this new ABB ACQ580 control panel will provide our customer with a wealth of benefits:
· An upgraded and more efficient control system
· Reduced transients in the pipe network
· Better pressure consistency (and so fewer bursts)
The new control panel maintains a constant pressure, provides duty/backup control, and has a 30 second ramp up and ramp down to reduce the effect of transients in the network.
It'll also provide inlet dry run protection from a low inlet pressure switch (a new 0-16 bar pressure transducer was also fitted to provide the pressure feedback to the control panel for the inlet and the outlet pressures). A high outlet pressure switch was also introduced to provide a high outlet cut-out to stop the VSDs running in the unlikely event of malfunction causing the pressure to rise.
Once the panel was energised, the drives were programmed and a backup of the parameters taken to be securely stored on our server in case of future faults. All power cables were also tested in accordance with the NICEIC Electrical Installation Certificate and stored accordingly.
